The Arlington Resort Hotel and Spa boasts a prime downtown location and historic charm, offering a relaxing experience with a stunning thermal bath. However, recent reviews highlight significant cleanliness and maintenance concerns, particularly related to outdated rooms, dirty carpets, and potential sanitation issues.
First and foremost I give the rooms a 2 only because they are very old and most would freak out. Me i loved it. The spa was amazing the salon for nails I do not recommend. The staff totally amazing not one ride staff member. We are going back asap. Close to everything.
We stayed there twice.. First experience was horrible.. had a busted pipe in our room water all over the dirty carpet. They did switch our rooms out. But that carpet was dirty as well. Took $200 bucks extra off of my card claiming someone was smoking in the room..(I don't smoke in hotel rooms had my kids in room ages 10 and 7 years of age.. I dont even smoke in my own house! Asked for proof from staff, they never provided it.) Mold in bathroom. Breakfast was too expensive, but we paid it anyways. Thought I'd give them one more chance. On our second stay, for my daughter's 8th birthday. More of the same.. Dirty carpets, this time, kept seeing dog poop in elevators and lobby.. told staff, to their credit they did clean it up.. but eww! Found other places to eat outside of hotel. I understand the history of the hotel. But just because a few dead gangsters slept there, is no excuse not to modernize this hotel. They need to just shut the whole thing down and rehab everything. For what they charge for the stay it needs to be way cleaner... Outside is beautiful. But the rooms look like something you would find in a motel6. Unless you're renting a suite there.
Pros: Great location! Very easy walk to the grand promenade and hiking trails. Also really easy access to downtown strip, and the attractions are pretty good. The pool was pretty great as well! Beds were super comfortable and the AC was working fantastically. The staff were also super friendly and helpful with any questions or requests we had. You can get discounted tickets to the Garvan Woodland Gardens through the hotel which is neat! One thing to note is that room service does not come to your room unless you request it, which can be done via QR code in the room. Cons: Hotel was rather run down, but they were in the process of renovating the other side of our floor, so hopefully our side will be tended to soon. Paint chips falling from the walls, mold in the bathroom, lots of cracks and mysterious stains as well? Hallways were dark and spooky. The window to the room next to us was filled with trash bags which was a little unsettling, but I’m assuming it was storage or something. Overall, our stay was satisfactory. The location of the hotel really makes up for its shortcomings with the room, however if that stuff bothers you I’d suggest booking one of the other hotels in the area until the Arlington finishes their renovations.
Older historic building centrally located in the downtown area. Hotel is beginning some much-needed renovation which is expected to last until mid 2027. The interior is well maintained for its age, and everything is very clean with no 'old building' smell but obvious wear and tear throughout. The staff were all absolutely wonderful, the in-lobby bar and restaurant were particularly enjoyable as it rained off and on during our stay. The absolute highlight though was the thermal bath which was an absolute slice of heaven. The perk of staying in the hotel and using the on-site bath was the ability to go to the room for a nap afterward! Will absolutely return was a wonderful relaxing experience.
Got the pamper package, which was an outstanding deal. The staff was super friendly and professional. Atmosphere was so historical. Even though I didn't get my paraffin hand wax or my hand mitten to bathe with they made up for it with loving hospitality. Thanks everyone. I plan on coming back once a month!!! Oh yeah and Shane in valet was the perfect welcome wagon not to mention the above and beyond goodbye
