The Inn at Carnall Hall offers a charming and historic experience with a prime location on the University of Arkansas campus. While consistently praised for its location, friendly staff, and beautiful architecture, recent reviews have highlighted issues with room maintenance, noise levels, and inconsistent service. Despite these concerns, many guests appreciate its convenient access to campus and downtown Fayetteville.
Everyone working at the inn was lovely, but our room unfortunately had tons of issues. The singular lamp in our room wasn’t working so we only had one overhead light and due to the layout, one side of the room was completely dark which made getting ready very difficult. We couldn’t get the TV to work and it didn’t have any streaming. The bathroom had black mold and was very run down, including the shelf above the sink being wobbly and broken. Def could’ve used some TLC and paint before welcoming guests. As good as the location is, if I could do the trip over I would stay at the Stonebreaker Hotel less than 10 minutes away.
Absolutely beautiful hotel with high ceilings and a quality shower. The crispy air conditioning and fluffy pillows were also lovely! Every employee we interacted with was friendly and helpful. We would absolutely stay here again.
We had a lovely lunch at Ella's. There was adequate parking space available for three of us arriving separately. The food was tasty. The service was courteous.
We recently hosted our ASID chapter’s awards gala at Carnall Hall, and the experience was truly fantastic from start to finish. The venue itself is beautiful and created the perfect setting for our event, but what really made the evening exceptional was the staff. Karisa was incredibly helpful throughout the entire planning process. She was kind, responsive, and paid close attention to every detail, making sure everything ran smoothly and that we had exactly what we needed. Planning an event like this can be stressful, but her organization and support made it feel easy. The team at Carnall Hall went above and beyond to ensure our gala was successful, and our guests had a wonderful time. We’re grateful for their hospitality and professionalism and would absolutely recommend Carnall Hall to anyone planning a special event in Fayetteville.
Carnall Hall is a lovely venue with lots of charm. We did a small wedding reception on the veranda and in the dining room. It was very pretty and great for photos. Unfortunately, the planning experience left a lot to be desired. We often had to ask questions multiple times to get even a simple yes or no answer. We also dealt with some inconsistencies. We made the mistake of not tracking every tiny detail (especially given the automatic 22% gratuity), and it had a tangible impact on our event. Changes to day-of operations and the menu were not specifically addressed with us. The change to one of the entrees was in a single document after dozens of emails, several phone calls, 2 in-person meetings. Read every detail and take detailed notes. The “new” entrée was also so poorly prepared (it was supposed to be roasted chicken, but turned out very gummy) that most of our guests did not eat it. Neither of the coordinators we worked with were actually at our reception. The staff at our reception were very friendly, but it was apparent the predetermined schedule was either unknown to them or somehow lost in the mix. We ended up not getting to do a first dance, and many of our guests did not get a chance to grab cake and coffee before the night wrapped up. We also lost time with guests. Unbeknownst to us, the lead coordinator was leaving her position and there was a gap period before someone replaced her. I suspect this was a large factor in how our reception was handled, so hopefully our experience was an outlier. Sadly, we were disappointed with the experience overall. Despite months of planning, our simple and small reception felt haphazard. We did not get our money’s worth, but, more importantly, we were very disappointed with how our wedding reception turned out. We only get one wedding day, and we wish we had gone with another reception venue. We shared these concerns with the venue in hopes of future couples having a more satisfying experience. Though they were apologetic, we cannot turn back the clock for a redo.
The only good thing about this place is the location. Look there are so many bad things about this hotel but to spare everyone the reading, the most important is that THERE IS NO AC IN THE HOTEL. They will not tell you until the day you arrive and they WILL NOT OFFER A REFUND OR ANY COMPENSATION as a result. I would never recommend this hotel.
Clean, very friendly staff, great location, and a very cozy feel! Will definitely be staying here again next time we're visiting!
Had a great experience here last week for work. The hotel was clean and the staff was kind, but the standout was Charlotte at the bar. I walked in early and was the only person there. She not only took great care of me, but we had a great conversation. Hard to find service like that - they've got a gem with her!
Recently attended a meeting here. All meals at Ella's Table (breakfast, lunch & dinner) were very good! Everything is prepared to order. It may take a bit longer, but it's worth it. Our room was super clean and the bed was comfortable. Bathroom was a good size. The only downside is that since this is an older building, the HVAC is not optimal. The AC cooled well, but still left the room and everything in it damp from humidity. Great location on the U of A campus. Plenty of restaurants and shops w/in a 10-15 minute drive. Front desk and meeting/sales staff are all wonderful!!
I checked into this hotel for a conference, and was greeted by Terrance. Not only was he extremely pleasant, but also, he gave me great recommendations of local restaurants. Terrance was professional, easy to speak with and you can see he is a hard worker! I also had the opportunity to meet Sam and Jesse from the restaurant and they are the warmest staff! They are so sweet, and they helped me stay within my budget because I had to account for food tax and the included 20% gratuity on the tab. Jesse and Sam helped me with my concern, and you can see that they get along really well. They really went out of their way and stayed positive when I had a lot of questions. The beds are very comfortable and I slept really well, however the bathroom is limited on counter space so be conscientious of this. You can hear people when they are passing the rooms, but usually people are considerate most of the time. Thank you everyone at this hotel from front desk to the restaurant, I truly enjoyed the stay !
