The Crescent Hotel and Spa offers a unique historical experience in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Recent reviews highlight both exceptional service and frustrating inconsistencies in guest hospitality, particularly regarding seating arrangements and dining service. Despite the positive experiences, some guests have reported issues with staff attentiveness and responsiveness.
So I have been debating about leaving a review based on the service that we’ve received during our last two visits because I don’t want future visits to be repeated because of my review; however, I must make a few notes here for others. The last time we went to Eureka Springs, which has been about three months ago, we went to the breakfast at 10 o’clock in the morning. They were already putting chairs on tables, even though breakfast doesn’t end until 11 o’clock in the morning—it was pretty obvious that the staff were ready to call it a day, but we were hungry. We should’ve left because the waitress came over and let us know that the breakfast buffet was not available— which is no problem, so we ordered off the menu. We ordered pancakes and asked for heated syrup. We were told they do not do heated syrup. We have ordered and received heated syrup on previous visits. How hard is it to heat syrup in 2026 ? There are microwaves? There weren’t really many people in the restaurant which now I know why. Again, this was three months ago. Fast-forward to two weeks ago. We went to the Skybar on the fourth floor for a cocktail and maybe some appetizers to wait for our room to be ready. We walked in as we usually do, but this time, we were told to wait outside. I get that, if they are busy. They were not busy. TikTok TikTok, we waited and waited, and finally the most rude hostess came outside in the hallway and said, “How many?” Pretty obvious when there are only two people standing out there. But whatever….. We said two, And we would like to sit out on the balcony. There were two people ahead of us—They were putting their order in at the cash register. They went to the balcony as well a little ahead of us. They went to the left, had absolutely no problem; we went to the right……the host followed us to the right, not saying anything to the people on the left, telling us that we had to sit right by the door. I don’t like sitting by that door. I want to sit where the opening and closing of a door won’t startle me every time it opens. She said we need you to sit here by the door and not over there. We left. We are very good tippers for outstanding service. The hostess with the non-Mostest won’t ever know what she missed out on tip-wise by being Rude to us. When a restaurant is not busy, there’s no line, and they get so picky about where you sit when two people ahead of you have absolutely no problem where you sit, you begin to wonder why is there a problem???
Amazing experience every time I stay at the Crescent Hotel! The experience starts long before you arrive. Danielle, the director, is wonderful, and Chad, Abby, and Eduardo are always accommodating when it comes to scheduling and assisting guests by phone. Their commitment to customer service truly sets the tone for the entire stay and creates a level of customer delight that is hard to find. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. Room 201 is by far my favorite—not only because of its size, but also because I’ve personally had some interesting experiences there that made the stay even more memorable. I’ve visited with friends, family, and even on solo trips, and honestly, any time of year is a great time to stay. If you’re traveling with family, be sure to check out the cottages owned by the Crescent as well. They’re incredibly spacious, perfect for larger groups, and surrounded by beautiful views. If relaxation is what you’re after, head down to the spa for a massage or facial. The entire spa team is amazing and always provides a wonderful experience. When it comes to dining, don’t miss breakfast downstairs—it’s absolutely blissful. And if you’re looking for something later in the day, head up to the SkyBar for a delicious pizza and one of their amazing chocolate martinis. The bartenders, servers, room service staff, and everyone I’ve encountered have consistently gone above and beyond. From check-in to check-out, the Crescent delivers exceptional hospitality. Eureka Springs has become my favorite home away from home, and the Crescent Hotel is a big reason why. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable getaway.
My wife and I have stayed here a few times now and this place is always special to us. A few bits I'd share: Building/Grounds: Obviously, the building is very old, but that's what makes it so charming. Its deep and controversial history draws you in and makes it feel like you have stepped back in time. Definitely make sure you go to the fourth floor as history about the place lines the walls and is quite interesting. A few highlights: Rooms: The rooms are basic, but quaint, and you'll go back and forth via the "old school" steel key, no key cards here! You may find an odd step up before you got into the bathroom but guessing that's to accommodate retrofitted plumbing, just be careful! Expect to see window units for the A/C, but they will keep you plenty cool. The mattresses comfortable butting up ornate headboards and you have a flat screen TV, if you need that sort of thing. Food: Excellent food. I would highly recommend both the 4th floor pizza bar for great food and a beautiful view as well as the breakfast buffet in the ballroom. Service: Staff is friendly and accommodating. Keep in mind they have a shuttle that will run you downtown and pick you up. They give you a business card but just put the number in your phone as you'll probably be back if you live anywhere remotely close by. Overall, this place is awesome, and we will continue to visit frequently. Give it a try!
Have I ever heard of the most haunted hotel before I booked....NO! But, I have heard if Eureka Springs AR. The family's first trip to Arkansas and we wanted something memorable. A simple Google search of hotels in Eureka Springs and Crescent popped up. This place is gorgeous!! 10 out of 10. The location, well the drive up to the hill top was something! The place is full of history and stories of the past. The Crescent's staff was over the top fabulous ? Grounds and the terrace views amazing.....peaceful. I really could go on, on and on. Would the family visit again? ABSOLUTELY!! For one night the room cost was $110 (military rate) + tax. Check in 4 pm, check out 11 am. A $35 fee to extend to 1 pm Dining at hotel at Skydinning room Pizza ( delish!) and 2 cocktails each the four of us $98 before tip. We did not do breakfast in the morning. Breakfast is offered in the Crystal Dining Room, or in service to your room. The 8 pm Ghost tour $29 + tax each gir a party of 4. Did we see a ghost ? and have encounters??.........maybe. ? We did not take advantage of the hotel shuttle service into Eureka Springs, but it is offered for guests. Or front desk will assist in contacting the trolleys to take you to the stops in Eureka Springs. The front staff recommended to call the directly for future bookings...you'll have to Google the number because this visit was truly a spontaneous stay. Love the Crescent! ?
I love an old hotel. And this one is well taken care of and loved. All the staff were friendly and polite. I even met the owner on our way up the stairs and she was also lovely. There is so much to do at the hotel from ghost tours, heated pools, sitting on the porch playing games to the axe throwing and bb gun range. I just love all the work that goes into keeping this beautiful historic hotel lively and fun. We stayed in Theodora room so it made the stay that much more special. I can't recommend this place enough. It truely is a destination spot and oh yeah it close to downtown Eureka.
