The Hotel Hot Springs is located in a great area with free street parking and close proximity to downtown, but suffers from significant cleanliness and maintenance issues, as highlighted by recent reviews. While some guests appreciate the friendly staff and views, persistent problems with dated facilities, dirty rooms, and unresponsive service create a disappointing experience.

Staff at check in was lovely, staff receiving calls at desk incredibly rude. Hotel is very dated. Requested change of rooms due to strong odor in first room. An effort has been made to update rooms, but our room had dirty baseboards, dirty shower, handprint smudges visible on headboard. Wall mounted shampoo, conditioner and body wash dispenser all empty. Unfortunately realized this after I’d gotten in the shower. Called the desk to request they bring some up and she said I could come down and get some. When I asked if there was anyone who could bring them since I just got out of the shower, she hung up on me.

Great location, walking distance to many things. Loved that there was free street parking in front of the hotel. Staff was really nice but I asked for a room far from the elevator and confirmed it at check in but they still gave me a room near the elevator. The hotel is pretty dumpy for the prices they charge. The bathroom was dirty, with long strands of hair all over the floor. The shower was also dirty and rusty and the drain was clogged, so the shower was basically a bath tub for my feet. Great location but not worth the price.

This hotel was very clean, with a large shower and a great view. (We were on the 13th floor.) The staff was friendly, and the location is fantastic. There are free parking spots right outside of the front door. We parked and walked the entire downtown area. I would recommend not staying close to the elevator, if you can help it. The sound wasn't obnoxious-- more like a whirl-- but it was a little loud and we were at the other end of the hall.

Perfect if you love staying at a filthy hotel in a great location! We arrived quite late but were greeted kindly and checked in quickly. We begrudgingly paid for parking in the open and seemingly unmonitored deck, and then rode the stinky elevator with sticky floors to the 10th floor. The door to the room didn’t open, so we headed back down thinking we had the wrong room. The very nice desk person rode back up with us and taught us to pull up on the door handle because the doors “just break sometimes.” I noticed the carpets in the hall were very stained and covered in lots of visible debris that was piled up around the doorway and in the threshold of the room. Once we got the key working, my husband pointed out that his hands were sticky from the door handle. The room smelled stagnant and maybe a bit moldy. I have stayed in a lot of mid hotels, so I wasn’t put off just yet. As we settled in, I noticed some pieces of food on the floor around the bed, and that’s when I got worried. Looking around, there was hair, crumbs, dust and dirt all over the floors, inside drawers, and on the walls of the bathroom and shower. There were also water stains and mold around fire sprinklers. We unmade one of the beds and found hair of many different lengths, textures and colors all over very worn, dingy sheets and on the mattress cover. This wasn’t a few stray hairs, but the accumulation of many people who slept there before us. The beds were also wrapped in zippered, fabric mattress protectors that didn’t seem possible to take off between linen changes. I fear for what the mattresses look like under that. At this point, I was willing to just sleep in the other bed and leave the next day, but then when we saw the stains on the sheets. Pulling the sheets from the mattress, we found yellow and brown stains soaking through the mattress cover. I can only assume that means these sheets are not regularly changed, because the stains were not new. I can handle some dirt and hair in an old hotel, but unwashed linens are inexcusable when the whole point of a hotel is a place to sleep. Spare yourself the despair and spend a bit more for included onsite parking, clean sheets and basic attention to detail.

I was very disappointed. The hotel itself is in serious need of updating, and the room floor was filthy. I paid $500 for a weekend and was extremely disappointed. Now to brag. Kyven (hope I spelled that right) was absolutely fantastic!!! We got there Friday at 11. The valet refused to help us because it was 11pm and he was done for the night. So Kyven got us checked in and took care of the car! He was so friendly and provided excellent customer service. The other guy was very rude. I will not stay here again.
