Hotel Hale offers a prime location along Bathhouse Row in Hot Springs, boasting beautifully designed rooms with exposed brick and private tubs. While praised for its aesthetics and service, recent guests have experienced inconsistent noise levels and unresponsive staff regarding vehicle damage.
Visited Hot Springs in March with my girlfriend for a long weekend getaway. The hotel is situated perfectly, right along the main road with easy access to the main sights of the town. The hotel is an old bath house and has a very small number of rooms, we picked their premier room and were given a personal tour. The room itself looks great, exposed brick, very spacious and nicely appointed. The shower is small and for some reason has soap/shampoo in the attached bulk style fixtures you would see in a cheaper hotel. I would have expected something more spa like but that's not a big deal. The bed is very comfortable, and we were sleeping soundly but then in the middle of the night we were awoken to strange sounds that we couldn't quiet place. Sounded like something mechanical, almost like pipes clanging. It wasn't constant, and it was not a sound we had heard earlier during the day. It was loud enough to wake us up. Every 30min or so it would go off. We mentioned it to the front desk the next morning and the staff did not know what it was but hoped it would not repeat. We ended up taking a 3 hour nap that day because we were exhausted from lack of sleep (no noises during that nap). The second rolls around and this time it seemed even worse, it was very hard to pinpoint what was doing it but it was extremely loud and mechanical in nature. The next morning at breakfast we mentioned this to the owner this time and he dismissed us, implying that it was street noise and we must be light sleepers. I assure you I am not a light sleeper and that was not street noise, also why would it only occur at night during sleeping hours. Interestingly enough after we spoke to him, the noise did not occur again on our final night. They hotel offers a valet service which we used. We picked up our car and headed home, we did not check the car before we left which we should have. Upon returning home, the rear passenger tire well had been damaged. I contacted the hotel and the owner said he would speak to his valet several days later when he returned to work and call me back. The owner did not call me be back, I then followed up with another call and left a message and still did not receive a call back. I called for a 3rd time and was able to speak to him, he informed me that they would not be able to do anything about the damage since it was not their responsibility. While my initial reaction to the hotel was excitement, the room looks very nice, great location, etc... the actual experience is sub par. The car damage aside, the hotel experience was very rough at night, given the loud noises. Also the food was average at best, I ordered a medium rare steak for example and it came out medium well. I would not recommend anyone to ever stay in this hotel.
We had an incredible experience at Hotel Hale. The level of customer service was exceptional and the best we’ve had in years. The owners and staff were responsive, considerate, polite, and engaged. We really appreciated seeing the owners actively involved and interacting with guests. The room was very nicely designed. We loved the brick walls and French doors that opened to nature. The mattress was very comfortable and we enjoyed being able to soak in mineral water in our private tub. We truly enjoyed our visit and hope to return in the future.
I called to book a room since we have twin toddlers and wanted to confirm that was OK. The arrival valet attendant was great. The checkin process was ridiculous from showing you how to operate an elevator, how to use a key, how to use a bath tub and the list goes on and on. All this is going on while my wife and I are juggling toddlers. From the moment we walked in the hotel the staff including the owner made us feel like they didn't want us there. Never received maid service for our two night stay, Which we asked for. It appears the hotel is understaffed. On checkout day after finishing breakfast the owner appeared to be pushing us to checkout, my wife had planned on taking one more bath soak since checkout is 1130am. After his arrogant vibe we choose to checkout and asked if the luggage cart could be brought up to the room. It never made it up and I had to find it after waiting 30 mins. Upon exiting hotel without the help of the hotel staff the owner decided he would push the luggage cart to my car, what a joke. The only plus to the place was the hot spring water bath tub and the restaurant. The food us amazing. It is a shame that management has ruined this historical hotel. This is not a 5 star boutique hotel. All hotel staff needs to go to hospitality training. You will get friendlier and better service at another establishment, we will not be back.
Extremely happy with our decision to stay at Hotel Hale. The location is perfect to walk around bathhouse row. I was a little worried about parking but Pat and Sully helped us drop off and find a spot right across the street. Breakfast was wonderful and the house made pastries were on point. The soak was just what the doctor ordered. Will definitely be back!
I really loved everything about our stay. The staff quickly knew which room we were in and would bring us our breakfast we selected every morning (homemade quiche and fruit, etc). It was so beautiful. I loved being able to take a hot springs bath in my own room - amazing. The hotel sells salts and some bath bombs and things to make it even more fun :) Also loved all the tile throughout. Perfect location in bathhouse row. We also stayed in the hotel across the street, but if I came back, I would choose this one again. Parking is the trickiest thing. No free parking and I didn’t know where my car went, so there wasn’t access to get things I left in it (I’m sure they would have helped me if I asked).
