Recent guests have highlighted the exceptional condition of the golf course and friendly staff, particularly in the pro shop. However, significant concerns have been raised regarding rudeness at the front desk and issues with billing and service, impacting overall guest satisfaction.
Front desk was rude and handled a situation with a long time member of red apple and Eden isle community EXTREMELY POORLY. They denied us access to the gym there and would not let us claim our member key cards that they had switched to over member numbers. I am extremely disappointed and unsatisfied with this experience and how the extremely seasoned women at the front talked and acted towards me and another longtime member of the community. Red Apple class and quality has gone down!
Golf course is in the best shape we have ever seen! Chris and Zane in the pro-shop couldn't have been friendlier or more accommodating.
Good location next to Greers Ferry Lake and great golf course
First, when you walk through the front doors the smell of mildew and old building smells. The decor is beautiful. We had 8 people in our party so they automatically added 20% tip to each person's bill. One person did not eat due to the mildew smell. The food was decent. There was one person at our table that was paying for 2. She gave both bills along with credit card and she signed both bills. The waitress brought back each persons receipts. And when she counted the people she exclaimed "one of you didn't pay" when one person quietly told her that the one person paid for 2 , the waitress asked her for the receipt. The receipts had been picked up in the folder. Then the waitress tells her she didn't charge her for two and charged her again . In the mean time the waitress (Sara) was completely embarrassing the lady that had her meal paid for. Finally after much argument the waitress realized one of the cards WAS charged for the 2 people and tried to refund the 3rd charge. After getting home and checking, the 3rd charge was not refunded. The waitress came to table and took our order, she then brought the order, then brought the bill. She totally humiliated a person in our party and was totally rude. One of our group that meets monthly stated that we would not ever come back and a second waitress chimed in loudly with "Bye have a nice day".
We are staying on Eden Isle, the community around Red Appel Inn. The Inn is a great location for a meal or take out. Our phone call was immediately taken on a high volume weekend and we were able to place an order for take out one evening and had breakfast in one of the dining rooms another day. In both instances, the team could not have been friendlier and more accommodating. The food was very nicely prepared. This is a great resource to have if one is staying on the island, as most restaurants are about 20-30 minutes away and the Inn is a 5-minute drive from nearly all homes on Eden Isle. It can be tricky to find, so I suggest using your Google Maps BEFORE driving, if this is your first time.
