This Holiday Inn Express Little Rock Airport consistently faces issues with room quality, service responsiveness, and operational problems. Recent reviews highlight persistent problems like key card malfunctions, lost items, and unhelpful staff, alongside concerning cleanliness and maintenance issues, such as bed bugs and hazardous pool conditions. The hotel's management appears to be struggling to maintain a satisfactory guest experience despite the potential offered by its location.
I rarely leave negative reviews for any business, but as a Platinum Elite member who stayed at this hotel for five days, I feel my experience needs to be shared. I was moved between two different rooms because each one was missing basic essentials—hangers, towels, trash cans, and even a desk lamp needed to work. Throughout these room changes, I also dealt with repeated issues with my key card. For three nights in a row, I had to go to the front desk to have it reactivated before the issue was finally resolved. After checking out before noon and driving 2.5 hours away, I realized I had accidentally left an item in the room. I called the hotel around 5 PM and was abruptly told to call back the next morning because they “couldn’t check right now.” When I called the next morning, I was told housekeeping hadn’t found anything, and the front desk agent rudely informed me that it was my fault for leaving the item behind. While I fully acknowledge I should have double?checked before leaving, the lack of professionalism—especially after I proactively called the evening before to ask if someone could check before the room was reassigned—was unacceptable. The individual refused to give his name but spoke with an Indian accent and typically works the evening and overnight shifts. This property has so much potential, but it desperately needs new ownership and staff who understand how to communicate respectfully with guests who choose to spend their money here. Unfortunately, If the current ownership and staff remains, they would need some remedial training in hospitality and management. I would not stay at or recommend this property to anyone until significant changes are made. Update: The hotel randomly charged my card $150 almost a month later without any explanation. I called IHG customer support and they kept referring me back to the hotel for a resolution which is dumb since they're completely lacking customer service skills. After pressing for an answer as to why my card was charged, I was only told that it was refunded. I guess if you leave a negative review, please be sure to keep an eye on your statements.
I chose this specific hotel for it's proximity to the airport due to having an early flight, but if you're coming for a longer stay keep in mind that it's very close to the airport. The hotel itself is nice and has a unique atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and helpful. This hotel has joined the trend that is unfortunately sweeping the nation of buying the absolute worst pillows imaginable and using them for all pillow options. Gone or the days when 4 pillows on a bed gave you at least 3 options, they are now all horrible. I sleep on a pillow so thin that all humans say I may as well sleep without one, and these pillows are even too thin for me. There was also a tremendous amount of light pollution from both the window and hallway door, but also from things inside the room which could not be covered or disabled. I've spent better nights in foxholes down range. 4 stars because the staff was really great and I've come to expect this level of sleeping disappointment from hotels recently because of how crappy these pillows are.
I checked in about 9:30 pm the night before a 7 am flight. I had booked with points and the location was great. When I walked in I realized I had made an error. It is a Holidome from the 80s. Room was old, dirty and smelled. I thought we could deal with it but when we found the bed bugs we left. Drove into downtown LR and got a room. Paid for it, too late to use points. Called manager and he said IHG had to refund points. IHG said hotel did that. I am a platinum member of IHG and I’m just about done with them. Great points program but Hoilday Inn is getting old and doing a bad job of remodels.
This is by FAR the worst kept IGH Express we have EVER stayed at. I rarely leave reviews, but do when things are really well, or in this case REALLY bad. Let's start with the pool: Hazards: My daughter stabbed her foot with a screw from the construction stuff around the pool no one bothered to sweep -- Just close the damn pool!! Room: It smells, no towels, and the water sprays outside the shower area more than inside. Service: Front desk guy on the damn cell phone (not work related) 24/7, we asked him 2 or 3 things (involving towels, an extra key card, something else maybe), and he hardly looked or acknowledged us bc of his call, unprofessional and rude. The breakfast was trash even though the lady helping us WAS AMAZING, she made us laugh, apologized for others not fixing her stuff (needed to serve things), etc. DO BETTER, if I have the time I will contact IGH HQ.
The hotel leaves much to be desired. The lady I spoke to on the phone was kind, but attempted to charge me an additional $30 for an early check in just to hold my bags in the conference room while I went to an appointment. When I arrived, the guy at the counter allowed my bags to be stored until I was able to check in at 1:30 free of charge. Returned at 1:30 and a different guy very abruptly and without initially allowing me to explain, told me it was too early to check in although the older guy from earlier told me to return for check in at 1:30. He went to the back to ask and I was allowed to check in. The room did not smell and the beds seemed to be clean. That was the extent of my two stars. The coffee maker spewed and leaked hot water and there was installation hanging from the ceiling over the pool. Which was a disappointing deterrent as one of the reasons I booked was because of the indoor pool. I didn't get in for fear of the installation falling in. None of the ice machines worked and there were spots on the curtains and on the carpet in the room. No blankets were available and the washer and dryer across the hallway were very loud. I do not recommend this hotel even if only for one night. It's not worth the rate we paid.
